The Network Operations Center (NOC) is the frontline of defense in making sure our customers have an unrivaled experience that is both easy to use and secure. As a BlockRules NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end support and maintenance of our cloud services. You must be able to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that affect the availability and performance of the cloud services. In this role, you will have opportunities to support an automated platform in the cloud, spanning multiple regions around the world.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the distributed container-based platform
• Support pre-production and production service applications at scale
• Commit to on-call time slots
• Identify, analyze, and initiate the escalation process based on the escalation criteria
• Act as an escalation resource for other operations and support teams when troubleshooting issues

Minimum qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience running and maintaining a high-availability production infrastructure
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Working knowledge of Linux OS basics and troubleshooting
• Proficient in shell/bash, Python, JavaScript, or similar language for automation
• Experience running and maintaining automated production infrastructure in AWS
• Ability to troubleshoot networks: routing, subnets, ACLs, VPNs, site-to-site tunnels
• Experience troubleshooting and managing Palo Alto & Fortinet firewalls

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with GitLab
• Working knowledge of agile/scrum processes
• Experience with "real-time" sensor networks
• Experience with monitoring and visualization tools, such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Working knowledge of ITIL service management best practices
• Understanding of blockchain
