Compliance Officer

To realize our vision, we are refining an industry-leading compliance program to mitigate risk as the business continues to scale. As our Compliance Officer, you will have the opportunity to design and implement this program and define best practices for this emerging technology. You must be able to exercise discretion, apply independent judgement, and thrive in an evolving, global regulatory environment. Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and document a compliance program for the organization that meets our business needs
  • Communicate relevant regulatory requirements that impact data privacy and security
  • Keep abreast of the ever-changing laws and regulations impacting blockchain companies (e.g., securities regulations, money transmission, KYC/AML, tax law, etc.)
  • Ensure that KYC/AML protocol is kept current with applicable legal and regulatory requirements related to securities issuance and trading
  • Research and write whitepapers and regulatory comments on blockchain issues
  • Design and build scalable, automated tools and services to meet regulatory needs
  • Investigate transactions, entities, and payment messages and watch list reports escalated from interdiction software screening vendors or lines of business for potential sanctions, AML, or policy violations

Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS degree, graduate degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Compliance Program Management
  • Familiarity with KYC/AML regulations
  • Strong knowledge of US, EU, and prominent APAC securities issuance and trading regulations

Preferred qualifications

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) focused on the US
  • Experience in data protection/GDPR compliance
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • Knowledge of computer programming and algorithms
